Personal Details
|
I was born and brought up at Fatepur, West Bengal, about 25 km. from Calcutta. I did
my B.Stat. (1981 - 1984) and M. Stat. (1984 - 1986) at the Indian Statistical Institute,
Calcutta. I completed my Ph.D.(Statistics) at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, USA during
1986-1990. I worked in the Department of Statistics at Oklahoma State University as
Assistant Professor from 1990 to 1995, and as Associate Professor (with Tenure) from 1995 to
1999. I have been serving in the Operations Management Group at the Indian Institute of
Management Calcutta, as Associate Professor from June 1997 to March 1999, and as
Professor since March 1999. I also worked in the Department of Mathematics, University of Mathematics at Lafayette as Visiting Professor during August 2001 - May 2002.
